This product was purchased as a "first" jewelry box for my niece for her 3rd birthday. It was the only jewelry box that I could find that had a brunette girl dancing inside. All the others had blond ballerinas. It was even better that the girl was dancing with her prince, because my niece is all about the prince and princess stories right now. I think all the little "secret" compartments are a plus, especially for a little girl. The box is also beautifully decorated on the outside and lined with pink felt. The only draw back is in the amount of storage. With only a few pieces, the box is now full. It is not going to hold as much as you might think. The drawers although numerous, are shallow. Not a problem for me, as she is not old enough to have too many pieces of jewelry. However, I don't expect her to use it for more than 3-4 years. Around 10, she will probably need a larger, more grown-up, jewelry box.
